Always, Already

Shot largely on 16mm over a period of twenty-five years, Always, Already is a hybrid of narrative, documentary and animation that explores how language shapes identity and our illusion of permanence. Featuring Cara Buono, John Schoenthaler and philosopher Friedrich Ulfers, the film moves between fiction, history and philosophy, asking what remains when the idea of a fixed self begins to dissolve.
